The NHBC are the National House Building Council. They are the UK’s leading independent standard-setting body and provider of warranty and insurance for new homes. Their purpose is to work with the house-building industry to raise the standards of new homes and to provide protection for homebuyers in the form of Buildmark warranty and insurance.
In the first 2 years of the Buildmark policy, the builder is responsible for putting right damage covered by the policy and you should contact them in the first instance.
If there is a dispute between you and the builder about work to be done, then the NHBC may be able to offer a Resolution Service to assist in resolving disputes about damage relating to the NHBC Standards.
If you want to speak to someone about a problem with your new home or an ongoing claim, you should call 0800 035 6422 or visit the NHBC website.
